1) General Information

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by

Google Ireland Limited
Gordon House, Barrow Street
Dublin 4, Ireland

a subsidiary of

Google LLC,
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway,
Mountain View, CA 94043 USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", which enable the analysis of your usage behavior on the website. The data collected in this way is used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of your visit to our website and the usage activities there. This data can also be used to provide additional services related to the use of our website and the Internet.

2) Proceeded Data Category

The IP address transferred by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not combined with other data by Google.

3) Legal Basis

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our Internet presence. We can use the statistics obtained to improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user.

4) Deactivation of data collection by Google Analytics

1.  you can revoke your consent to the storage of cookies at any time. For this purpose, we refer you to the previous notes on "Cookies" and the rights to which you are entitled.

2. You can also prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

3.  you can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

5) IP-Anonymization

We have implemented the IP address anonymization of Google Analytics on this website. The anonymization or masking of the IP takes place as soon as the IP addresses arrive in the Google Analytics data collection network and before the data is saved or processed. This means that IP addresses are further processed in a shortened form, thus excluding the possibility of personal references. If the data collected about you establishes a personal reference, this is immediately excluded and the personal data is deleted immediately.

You can find more information on IP anonymization at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052

6) Cross-device analysis

This website also uses Google Analytics for a cross-device analysis of visitor flows, which is performed via a user ID. You can deactivate the cross-device analysis of your usage in your customer account under "My data", "personal data".

SECTION III: Marketing-Tools

§ 1 Google Adwords Conversion

1) We use the offer of Google Adwords to draw attention to our attractive offers by means of advertising material (so-called Google Adwords) on external websites. We can determine in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, how successful the individual advertising measures are. In this way, we pursue the interest to show you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.

2) These advertising materials are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers". For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters can be measured to measure success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you reach our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords will store a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. The unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be contacted) are usually stored as analysis values for this cookie.

3) These cookies enable Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an AdWords client's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Google and the client can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. A different cookie is assigned to each Adwords client. Cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of Adwords clients. We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned above. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. By means of these evaluations we can recognize which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material, in particular we cannot identify the users on the basis of this information.

4) Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out and save your IP address.

5) You can prevent participation in this tracking process in a number of ways: a) by adjusting your browser software accordingly, in particular by suppressing third-party cookies so that you do not receive third-party ads; b) by disabling cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com", www.google.de/settings/ads , whereby this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies; c) by disabling interest-based ads from providers that are part of the self-regulatory campaign "About Ads" via the link www.aboutads.info/choices , whereby this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies; d) by permanently disabling them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers via the link www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin . We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer to their full extent.

6) Legal basis for the processing of your data is our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites and thus to reach more interested parties or users and/or customers.

The legal basis for setting the cookie is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO. You will find details on this under the item "Cookies".

7) Data protection of the provider:

(1) You can find the Google data protection guidelines at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de

(2) It is not excluded that the processing is carried out by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google LLC has subjected itself to the "EU-US Privacy Shield" and thereby declares its compliance with the data protection requirements of the EU when processing the data in the USA (available at: www.privacyshield.gov/participant;

§ 2 Remarketing

Besides Adwords Conversion we use the application Google Remarketing. This is a procedure with which we would like to address you again. This application allows us to show you our advertisements after your visit to our website during your further internet use. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which are used by Google to record and evaluate your usage behavior when you visit various websites. In this way Google can determine your previous visit to our website. A combination of the data collected in the course of remarketing with your personal data, which may be stored by Google, does not take place by Google according to its own statements. According to Google, pseudonymisation is used in remarketing.

§ 3 Facebook Pixel (Custom Audiences)

1) We use on this website the Facebook pixel of Facebook, a social media network of the company Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 Ireland.

2) With the help of the Facebook pixel, Facebook is on the one hand able to determine the visitors of our online offer as a target group for the presentation of ads. Accordingly, we use the Facebook pixel to display the Facebook ads placed by us only to those users who have also shown an interest in our online offering or who exhibit certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited), which we transmit to Facebook.

3) In this way, we want to ensure that our Facebook ads match the potential interest of users and are not harassing. We ourselves can track the effectiveness of Facebook Ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users have been redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook Ad.

4) The processing of users' personal data is based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO in the analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both our online offering and our advertising.

5) You can find out how the Facebook pixel is used for advertising campaigns at: www.facebook.com/business/learn/facebook-ads-pixel. You can change your settings for advertisements in Facebook under:

www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/ if you are logged in to Facebook.

6) You can manage your preferences for usage-based online advertising at www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement.  There you can disable or enable many providers at once or set the preferences for individual providers.

7) In addition, we offer a so-called opt-out procedure by means of a cookie, which enables you to object to the collection of data in accordance with Art. 21 Para. 2 and 3 DSGVO.

8) You can find more information about Facebook's privacy policy at: www.facebook.com/policy.php.

SECTION IV: Plug-Ins/Embedded Services

§ 1 Use of social media plug-ins

1) We currently use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Google Plus

2) In doing so, we use what is called the two-click solution. This means that no personal data are initially transmitted to the plug-in provider on principle when you visit our website.

3) You can recognize the plug-in provider by the marking on the box above their initial letter or by the logo. We allow you to communicate directly with the plug-in provider using the button. Only when you click the marked field and thereby activate it does the plug-in provider receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering. The data identified in Section 3 of this statement are transmitted as well. According to the information of the respective providers in Germany, the IP address is anonymized immediately after it is captured in case of Facebook and Xing. Note that activating the plug-in causes personal data about you to be transmitted to the respective plug-in provider and stored (in case of US providers, in the USA). Since the plug-in provider collects data primarily using cookies, we recommend deleting all cookies through your browser’s security settings before clicking the greyed-out box.

4) We have no influence on the collected data and data processing procedures, nor are the full scope of data collection, the purpose of processing and the storage terms known to us. Furthermore, we have no information regarding the erasure of the collected data by the plug-in provider.

5) The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses them for the purpose of advertising, market research and/or to design their website to suit market needs. Such an evaluation is performed in particular (also for users who are not logged on) to display targeted advertising and to inform other social network users about your activities on our website. You have a right to object to the creation of these user profiles and must contact the respective plug-in provider if you want to exercise this right.

6) We use plug-ins to allow you to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for using the plug-ins is Art. 6 (1), sentence 1, point f GDPR.

7) Data are transferred regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged on there. If you are logged on with the plug-in provider, your data collected with us are assigned directly to your existing account with the plug-in provider. When you click the activated button and for example link the page, the plug-in provider stores this information in your user account as well and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend always logging off after using a social network and in particular before activating the button in order to prevent the assignment to your profile with the plug-in provider.

8) Further information about the purpose and scope of the collection and processing of data by the plug-in provider is available in the data privacy statements of said providers that are provided below. There you can also obtain further information about your related rights and the configuration of settings to protect your privacy.

We use plug-ins to allow you to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for using the plug-ins is Art. 6 (1), sentence 1, point f GDPR.

2) Your Internet browser establishes a direct connection to the AddThis servers and where applicable to the selected social network or bookmarking service via these plug-ins. The recipients receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering, and the data identified in Section 3 of this statement. This information is processed on the AddThis servers in the USA. [We have concluded standard data protection clauses with AddThis.] When you send content on our website to social networks or bookmarking services, a connection can be made between the visit to our website and your user profile in the corresponding network. § 5 Data privacy statement for online advertising

Use of Google Adwords conversion

1) We use the Google Adwords offering to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising media (known as Google Adwords). In relation to the advertising campaign data, we can determine how effective the specific advertising measures are. In doing so, we pursue our interest in displaying advertising to you that is of interest to you, making our website more interesting for you and obtaining a fair calculation of advertising costs.

2) These advertising media are delivered by Google using ad servers. We use ad server cookies for this purpose, allowing certain success measurement parameters such as the display of advertisements or clicks by users to be measured. When you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a cookie on your computer. This cookie generally becomes invalid after 30 days and is not intended to identify you personally. The following analysis values are usually stored for this cookie: unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (flag that the user no longer wants to be addressed).

3) These cookies allow Google to subsequently identify your Internet browser. When a user visits certain pages on the website of an Adwords customer and the cookie stored on the user’s computer has not expired yet, Google and the customer are able to identify that the user has clicked the advertisement and was forwarded to that page. A different cookie is assigned to each Adwords customer. That means cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of Adwords customers. We ourselves do not collect and process personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. Google only provides us with statistical evaluations. These evaluations allow us to determine which of the advertising measures we use are especially effective. We do not receive further data from the use of the advertising media. In particular, we are not able to identify users based on this information.

4) Due to the marketing tools being used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google servers. We have no influence on the scope and subsequent use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool, and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of AdWords conversion, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our Internet presence or clicked one of our advertisements. If you are registered with a Google service, Google is able to assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or are not logged on, the provider may obtain and store your IP address.

5) You can prevent your participation in this tracking procedure in various ways:

a) By configuring the settings of your browser software accordingly; in particular, suppressing third-party cookies means that you do not receive any advertisements from third-party providers.

b) By deactivating the cookies for conversion tracking; this is done by configuring your browser so that cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.com   are blocked – www.google.de/settings/ads. These settings are erased when you delete your cookies.

c) By deactivating the interest-specific advertisements of the providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulation campaign via the link www.aboutads.info/choicesThese settings are erased when you delete your cookies.

d) Through permanent deactivation in your browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome under the link www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that you may not be able to take full advantage of all functions of this offering in that case.

6) The legal basis for processing your data is Art. 6 (1), sentence 1, point f GDPR. Further information about data protection at Google is found here:

Remarketing

We use the Google Remarketing application in addition to Adwords conversion. This is a procedure where we want to subsequently address you again. Our advertisements can be displayed during your subsequent use of the Internet through this application after you visit our website. This is done through corresponding cookies stored in your browser and used by Google to record and evaluate the usage behaviour while visiting various websites. Google can therefore determine that you have previously visited our website. According to Google, the data collected in the course of remarketing are not combined with your personal data that may be stored by Google. In particular, pseudonymisation is used in remarketing according to Google.

DoubleClick by Google

1) This website also uses the DoubleClick by Google online marketing tool. DoubleClick uses cookies to display advertisements relevant for the user, improve reports on campaign performance, or to prevent a user from seeing the same advertisements multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to determine in which browser advertisements are displayed and can thereby prevent them from being presented multiple times. DoubleClick with the help of cookie IDs is also able to record conversions related to advertisement requests. This is the case for example when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the website of the advertiser with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain any personal information.

2) Due to the marketing tools being used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google servers. We have no influence on the scope and subsequent use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool, and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of DoubleClick, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our Internet presence or clicked one of our advertisements. If you are registered with a Google service, Google is able to assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or are not logged on, the provider may obtain and store your IP address.

3) You can prevent your participation in this tracking procedure in various ways:

a) By configuring the settings of your browser software accordingly; in particular, suppressing third-party cookies means that you do not receive any advertisements from third-party providers.

b) By deactivating the cookies for conversion tracking; this is done by configuring your browser so that cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com” are blocked – www.google.de/settings/ads.   These settings are erased when you delete your cookies.

c) By deactivating the interest-specific advertisements of the providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulation campaign via the link www.aboutads.info/choices. These settings are erased when you delete your cookies.

d) Through permanent deactivation in your browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome under the link www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.  Please note that you may not be able to take full advantage of all functions of this offering in that case.

4) The legal basis for processing your data is Art. 6 (1), sentence 1, point f GDPR. Further information about DoubleClick by Google is available under

SECTION V: Social Media Presentation

§ 1 Facebook fan page

1) General Information

On Facebook we run our own fan page at www.facebook.com/scilGER. The pages and technical functionality of Facebook are provided by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland, a subsidiary of Facebook Inc. 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.

Facebook is a social network that allows users to communicate with each other and interact in virtual space. It serves as a platform for the exchange of opinions and experiences regarding personal or company-related information.

2) Data processing

(1) The personal data (e.g. personal information, IP address, etc.) of the users are usually processed by Facebook for market research and advertising purposes. For example, user profiles can be created from the user behavior and the resulting interests of the users. The user profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platforms that presumably correspond to the interests of the users. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the users' computers, in which the usage behaviour and interests of the users are stored. In addition, data may also be stored in the user profiles regardless of the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them).

(2) "Insights data Furthermore, Facebook provides us with statistical data of different categories (so-called "Insights Data") when using our fan page, which we can access accordingly. These page insights are summarized data, through which we can gain information about how people interact with our site. This includes: total number of page views, "Like" information, page activity, post interactions, video views, post reach, comments, shared content, responses, percentage of men and women, country and city of origin, language, store views and clicks, clicks on route planners, and clicks on phone numbers.

(3) Further information on "Insights Data", including information on how to exercise your rights, can be found at: www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data

3) Purpose of processing/legal basis

Our own processing of personal data on the fan page (user comments, news, page statistics) is based on our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO, in order to inform about our offer, to make contributions more attractive, to find the right time for publication, as well as to communicate with the customers, interested parties and users active there. We have no influence on possible further processing by the providers.

4) Joint responsibility

According to Art. 26 DSGVO there is a joint responsibility of the fan page operator and Facebook.

A corresponding agreement has been made with the fan page operators; available at: www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum

Facebook assumes the primary responsibility according to DSGVO for the processing of Insights data and will fulfill all obligations from DSGVO with regard to the processing of Insights data (including articles 12 and 13 DSGVO, articles 15 to 22 DSGVO and articles 32 to 34 DSGVO).

5) Management of rights

Also in the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would like to point out that these can most effectively be asserted on Facebook. Only Facebook has access to the users' data and can directly take appropriate measures and provide information. Should you still need help, please feel free to contact us.

6) Privacy of the provider

(1) When calling up the fan page, the terms and conditions and data processing guidelines of Facebook apply, over which we have no influence. The Facebook privacy policy can be found at www.facebook.com/about/privacy.

(2) It is not excluded that processing by Facebook Ireland Ltd. may also be carried out via Facebook Inc, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California 94025 in the USA.

Facebook Inc. has subjected itself to the "EU-US Privacy Shield" and thereby declares compliance with EU data protection regulations when processing data in the USA; available at: www.privacyshield.gov/participant;

(3) You can reach the data protection officer of Facebook via the general contact form at www.facebook.com/help/contact/540977946302970 or, regarding Insights data, at www.facebook.com/help/contact/308592359910928

§ 2 Further social media appearances

1) General Information

We maintain online presences within social networks in order to communicate with the users active there or to offer information about us there.

2) Data processing

Personal data such as inventory data (e.g. names, addresses), contact data (e.g. e-mail, telephone numbers), content data (e.g. text entries, photographs, videos), usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times), meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses) of the users may be processed.

3) Purpose of processing/legal basis

Our own processing of personal data on our social media sites is based on our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO, in order to inform about our offer, to make contributions more attractive, to find the right time for publication and to communicate with the customers, interested parties and users active there. We have no influence on possible further processing by the providers.

User data is generally processed by social network providers for market research and advertising purposes. Thus, for example, user profiles can be created based on the user behavior and the resulting interests of the users. The user profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements inside and outside the networks that presumably correspond to the interests of the users.

For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the users' computers, in which the usage behaviour and interests of the users are stored. Furthermore, data may also be stored in the user profiles independently of the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged on to them).

4) Reference to risks

We point out that user data may be processed by the respective providers outside the European Union. This can result in risks for the users, because the enforcement of the users' rights could be made more difficult. With regard to US providers that are certified under the Privacy Shield or offer comparable guarantees of a secure level of data protection, we would like to point out that they thereby undertake to comply with the data protection standards of the EU.

5) Management of rights

Also, in the case of requests for information and the assertion of data subject rights, we would like to point out that these can be most effectively asserted with the providers. Only the providers have access to the data of the users in each case and can directly take appropriate measures and provide information. Should you nevertheless require assistance, you are welcome to contact us at scil.datenschutz-en(at)scilvet.com.

6) Data protection of the providers

For a detailed presentation of the respective forms of processing and the possibilities of objection (opt-out), we refer to the data protection declarations and information provided by the providers of the respective social media networks, over which we have no influence and which apply when the respective sites are accessed.

§ 3 Linking of social media appearances via graphic or text link

1) We also link on our website to social media appearances on the platforms listed below. The integration takes place via a linked graphic or a text link of the respective platform. The use of this link prevents that when a website with a social media link is called up, a connection is automatically established to the respective server of the platform to display a graphic of the respective platform itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic the user is forwarded to the service of the respective platform.

2) After the user has been forwarded, information about the user is collected by the respective provider. It cannot be excluded that the data collected in this way will be processed in the USA.

3) This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and visited page. If the user is logged into his user account on the respective platform during this time, the operator may be able to assign the collected information of the user's specific visit to his personal account. If the user interacts via a "share" button of the respective platform, this information can be stored in the user's personal user account and, if necessary, published.
